Grace Liu

President of PTERYX

Hi there, this is Grace Liu, president of the PTERYX Foundation of Culture and Education. If you want to describe me in a single word, it must be passionate. “Teenagers need passions.” This is one of the main reasons for my establishing this nonprofit. "Changing the world" sounds like a fairytale that everyone told us when we were young. However, it is something realistic here at PTERYX, where teenagers collaborate together, follow their dreams, and contribute to the world, even if only by a small force. PTERYX is a platform for us to improve our academic skills, communicative skills, and confidence. We aim to provide students with the chance to build bridges with each other and academia.

Hihi, I'm Kevin Zang, from Dalian, a romantic coastal city in northeastern China. Currently the Vice President and Minister of External Cooperation of PTERYX. Personally like global history, especially various dynasties in Chinese antiquity, geography, soccer, distinct TV series, international business, and so on. While choosing a favourite sentence, it may be the motto of my alma mater. Be yourself, with warmth, height, connotation, and development.

Cecilia Luo

Director of Media Department

Hi, I’m Cecilia. As an international student, I experienced a hard time when first coming to this country due to culture shock, so I totally understand how lonely and confusing it could be for teens to adapt to a new environment. I hope to use arts as a cultural bridge and create more relevant activities to provide young newcomers with the opportunities to express their feelings.

Xinhao(Ken) Wang

Director of the Peer Tutoring Program

Hello, my name is Ken. I am an international student currently studying in Toronto. I had experienced and suffered from language and culture barriers myself. So, I thoroughly understand the fear and uneasiness behind newcomers. As a result, I joined PTERYX; I am willing to change the status quo of international students. I want to make a difference in our current community!
